| Dear Partner, |
| We're writing to inform you about an upcoming change to AdSense reporting. As part of our ongoing efforts to provide you with the most relevant and impactful metrics, we'll be retiring session-related metrics in AdSense from September 2025. |
| Why this change? |
| Our data indicates that session-related metrics are used infrequently and provide limited insights for optimizing your AdSense performance. |
| Which metrics are affected? |
| Metrics that rely on ad sessions, such as "Ad sessions" and "Ad session RPM", will be affected by this change. |
| It's important to note that metrics based on pageviews, queries, impressions, or clicks are not impacted. |
| Alternative solutions: |
| For comprehensive session-level data and user behavior analysis, you could use Google Analytics. It offers a wide range of metrics, dimensions, and segments that provide deeper insights into your audience and website traffic. You can read more about how to link your Google Analytics 4 property with AdSense in our Help Center. |
| Our focus going forward |
| By sunsetting these underutilized metrics, we can focus our development efforts on enhancing core AdSense metrics and introducing new features that deliver greater value and impact. We know reporting changes can mean adjustments, so we're giving you six months to transition and encourage you to explore Google Analytics for session-related insights before these metrics are retired in AdSense. |
| Thanks for your understanding and partnership - we’re here to support you every step of the way! |
| Sincerely, |
| The Google AdSense Team |
